PCG rescues fishers stranded in WPS

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescues the fishers stranded in a part of the West Philippine Sea wherein debris from Chinese rocket are expected to fall in Scarborough Shoal, on July 17, 2025.

The 17 crew inside the fishing vessel FB Cassandra were rescued after being stranded in the West Philippine Sea, approximately 59 nautical miles northeast of Scarborough Shoal, according to Commodore Jay Tarriela, PCG spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea.
